Job Summary
Safely transport passengers on assigned routes within Prince George, adhering to all traffic laws, safety rules, and time schedules. Courteously interact with customers, load mobility devices, make announcements, collect fares, and manage passenger behavior through quick problem-solving. Complete vehicle and incident reports, carry out emergency procedures, and answer inquiries en route while navigating various road conditions and weather. Work split shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with air brake endorsement
- Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points and a demonstrated record of safe and responsible driving over the past 5 years
- No criminal convictions or pending charges relating directly to the Operator position
- Ability to pass a comprehensive medical examination relating to Motor Vehicle Act requirement for a Class 2 driver's license
- Ability to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to communicate effectively with the traveling public and to report on incidents involving safety and/or service
