Job Summary
Transformer Engineer (low voltage) is a senior-level electrical engineering leadership role focused on advancing low- and medium-voltage transformer product lines for utility, renewable energy, industrial, and data center projects. The role leads one or more product lines, supports engineering project execution, develops quotations, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and detailed drawing packages, reviews specifications, and coordinates between engineering, scheduling, manufacturing, and sales. Responsibilities include providing technical support on product applications, ensuring compliance with ANSI/IEEE/CSA/NEMA standards, participating in customer visits and facility tours, and driving continuous improvement in quoting, standardization, and order management. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field with relevant experience), 2+ years in technical proposals/quoting, 10+ years in product management or technical sales/coordination (preferred), and strong skills in power distribution, CAD, Excel, ERP/SAP, and client interaction. The role supports remote, hybrid, or office work environments and may require occasional travel to Atlanta, GA and Salt Lake City, UT for meetings and site visits, with proximity to Atlanta preferred for periodic in-person meetings. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering discipline or business field with relevant technical experience considered
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with technical proposals, quoting, or engineered products
- 10+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, or customer support in a technical environment preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is optional
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes
- Experience leading teams in remote, hybrid, or office environments
- Strong scheduling and coordination skills with sales, project managers, and senior leadership
- Ability to interpret and apply client, internal, and industry standards to complex designs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- ERP or SAP experience preferred
- Intermediate CAD experience required
- Ability to interact with clients in both office and field environments
- Experience evaluating and developing design alternatives for constructability and technical performance
