Job Summary

Coordinate incoming and outgoing interfacility transfer requests, routing them efficiently between referring providers, transport teams, and hospital departments. Maintain constant communication with ground EMS and air medical services to track locations, provide updates, and secure bed assignments for receiving teams. Document each transfer interaction in the EHR and transfer systems to ensure accurate, real-time records. Review weather conditions for air transport to ensure safe travel for patients and crews. Manage multiple communication channels simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient safety and timely care.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability for variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must be able to manage multiple communication channels simultaneously
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and computer systems

Desired Qualifications

  • EMT, LPN, or RN education or certification
  • IAMTCS certification
  • At least 2 years of healthcare experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital workflows
  • Experience with phone, radio, or dispatch communication systems
  • Experience with emergency procedures, navigation systems, or aviation support
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and prioritize in high-pressure situations
