Job Summary
Coordinate appropriate and timely transportation requests and accurately confirm, maintain, and monitor patient transfers and discharges. Pre-register transfer patients in EPIC and StatCall software, documenting ambulance arrival times and assigning beds in coordination with Bed Management and Ambulance Communication. Facilitate routine non-clinical transportation requests for lab work, records, and surgical trays while developing strong customer relations. Requires high school diploma or GED, one year of patient registration experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and EPIC/StatCall. Hourly range $23.48–$24.70. University Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching affiliate of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, offers medical, dental, and vision coverage alongside a pension plan.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in patient registration and/or scheduling
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of EPIC and StatCall software
