Job Summary
Review and edit speech recognition drafts for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Verify patient demographics, listen to dictated audio to resolve discrepancies, and ensure correct medical terminology and clinical phrasing. Apply organizational formatting standards and enter finalized reports into the EMR system with accurate patient matching. Identify inconsistencies, correct unclear sections, and communicate with physicians when clarification is required. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies. This role supports documentation standards that ensure patient safety, continuity of care, and compliance at a collaborative diagnostic site in central SW Calgary.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of related experience in medical transcription
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities
- A cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as the ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR certificate and AED, an asset
