Job Summary

Oversee business development and marketing strategy across the firm's transactional practices, developing go-to-market plans aligned with firm strategy and executing integrated campaigns to drive new business opportunities. Manage client-centric pitches, RFP responses, and marketing materials while planning high-impact events, conferences, and sponsorships to elevate the firm's market profile. Lead internal marketing infrastructure projects to improve deal experience capture and support the onboarding of lateral partners. Direct marketing budgets and sponsorship investments to ensure strong ROI, while tracking program results and reporting performance metrics. Collaborate closely with practice and sector leadership to enhance awareness of Transactions capabilities and align initiatives with practice goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • 10+ years' experience in marketing/business development in a professional services environment
  • Must have experience and ability to plan strategically, execute tactically and have a client service focus
  • Must have a strong understanding of the business environment in key industry sectors relevant to transactional practices, as well as the competitive landscape
  • Must be a self-starter and leader with accomplished critical thinking skills and a thorough understanding of the firm's value proposition, particularly in transactional practices
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior partners and practice group leaders, building consensus and aligning marketing/BD initiatives with practice goals
  • Must have excellent communication and data analysis skills, as well as strong writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Proficiency with MS Office products to include Word/Excel/Power Point
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
  • Foster positive work relationships
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a large law firm environment (either as a practicing lawyer or in a senior marketing/BD role) is highly beneficial
  • Master's Degree
  • Certificates JD
