Job Summary
Conduct wide-range audits of licensed operators to determine statutory and procedural compliance, analyzing reports to verify accuracy and make necessary documentary or monetary adjustments. Investigate relevant legal and policy issues, prepare audit reports documenting conclusions and recommendations, and resolve audits to bring operators into compliance. Identify persistent error trends and report them immediately to management. Participate on a phone bank to answer daily calls and emails, and assist in training new licensed operators or employees as needed. Review completed audits for accuracy and update division policies to reflect organizational needs. Work in a comfortable office setting with flexibility for early shifts, weekends, and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field
- One (1) year of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field
- Two (2) years of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Willingness and ability to perform all job-related travel
- Reliable transportation for local travel
- Knowledge of mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
- Knowledge and understanding of modern office methods and procedures, including computer technology related to accounting systems
- Ability to work with sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality with appropriate discretion
- Ability to be an active participant in the development and evaluation of program objectives and procedures
- Ability to review and analyze accounting records and business practices
- Ability to be an active participant in various types of audits and complete required reports
- Ability to comprehend and carry out complex accounting, auditing and fiscal procedures
- Ability to perform a wide range of audit functions and perform highly independent work
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for early or late shifts
- Must be available for occasional overtime
- Must be willing to perform audits of licensed operators to determine statutory and procedural compliance
- Must be able to analyze and verify reports submitted by licensed operators
- Must be able to investigate relevant legal and policy issues
- Must be able to prepare audit reports documenting conclusions of audits and provide recommendations
- Must be able to resolve audits and bring licensed operators into compliance
- Must be able to identify persistent error trends and report those trends immediately to management

Desired Qualifications
- Level I: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level II: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; PLUS one (1) year of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Level III: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; PLUS two (2) years of bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, or similar field; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
