Job Summary
Lead financial due diligence efforts for buy-side and sell-side transactions, including quality of earnings, working capital, and net debt analysis. Analyze target company financials to support valuation and transaction structuring while evaluating non-recurring items and accounting policies. Serve as a strategic advisor on transaction-related matters such as purchase accounting, revenue recognition, and lease considerations. Prepare due diligence reports and coordinate data room activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated deal support. Maintain strong client relationships and assist in post-transaction activities including purchase price allocation and integration accounting. This role offers significant exposure to diligence engagements and requires managing multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, or technical accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Direct experience with financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, or M&A-related projects
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key deal risks and adjustments
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings and insights clearly to clients and deal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, client-ready deliverables
- Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments, industries, and roles
- Must be able to travel to Rochester, NY office at least 1x/month during the first few months
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or interest in transaction advisory, due diligence, or M&A support
- Mix of public accounting and corporate experience
- 10+ years of experience (for Senior Manager level)
- Strong background in financial reporting, technical accounting, and analytical review
