Job Summary
Supervise up to ten employees in the Transportation Department by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and resolving complaints. Manage safety performance, operating practices, and financial productivity while overseeing customer interface and service quality. Direct railcar-switching functions, crew schedules, and payroll within targeted budgets. Conduct efficiency tests and investigate incidents such as derailments or personal injuries to prepare associated reports. Maintain compliance with FRA regulations and federal operating standards. Assist with other projects and perform duties as assigned at individual site or district locations.
Required Qualifications
- Five years of work experience in the railroad industry, with supervisory duties
- Knowledge and understanding of FRA regulations
Desired Qualifications
- seven years of experience in the railroad industry preferred
- Associate's degree
- bachelor's degree preferred
