Training Support Technician I - Industrial Fire

Job Summary
Conduct preventative maintenance and perform minor to major repairs on training props in the assigned Industrial Fire area. Provide direct student contact and act as a safety evaluator during hands-on live fire training scenarios, recognizing health risks and analyzing proper PPE usage. Track all consumable use during training deliveries, complete required reports, and submit them to responsible parties prior to deadlines. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and obtain necessary certifications including TEEX for Forklift and Man-Lift, NFPA 1081, and Texas Railroad Commission for cylinder service. Work full-time at the Brayton Fire Field in College Station, Texas, reporting to the Training Support Foreman.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of maintenance or construction repair related experience
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Certification from TEEX for operation in Forklift, Material Handler, and Man-Lift
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Online Skills Evaluation certification
- NFPA 470 Online Awareness and Operations certification
- Texas Railroad Commission certification for DOT Cylinder Filler and Service and Installation
- NFPA 1081 Exterior certification
- NFPA 1081 Interior w/ ProBoard certification
