Training Supervisor (LGV Driver & Frontline Trainer)

Job Summary
Conduct training for drivers, loaders, and operatives at Biffa's recycling and waste management contracts in Manchester, ensuring employees are fully equipped to carry out their roles. Mentor staff by addressing unsafe behaviors during Gate Checks, Crew Monitoring, and Route Risk Assessments, while reporting vehicle cleanliness or condition issues to the Business Manager. Deliver all training aligned with Group Standards, tailoring content to contract specifications and operational needs. Coach drivers to improve skills, reduce accidents, and prevent Operator Licence contraventions, alerting managers when competency requirements are not met. Perform Depot-Based Training on wheel torquing, manual handling, vehicle defect checks, and in-cab PDA usage. Valid LGV Category C licence and Driver CPC required. Monday to Friday shifts starting 06:00 with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- LGV Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Working knowledge of transport and other relevant legislation
- Previous waste or service industry experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical-service environment
- IT literate – comfortable using business software and systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
