Job Summary
Training Instructor at GardaWorld delivering in-person or virtual classroom programs for new and existing employees; preparing staff with regulatory standards and policies; modeling professional conduct; ensuring a safe learning environment during practical and high-risk training; conducting scenario-based training, de-escalation, and communication drills; evaluating trainee performance through tests and simulations; coaching and mentoring, maintaining records for compliance; collaborating with management to identify training needs and develop programs; reports to the Regional Learning Leader for Ontario and Atlantic Canada; travel within Canada required; flexible hours including evenings and weekends; valid Ontario security license or dual license preferred; criminal background check; eligible to work in Canada; salary around $55,000 per year with room for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Must be prepared and available to travel on a regular basis, whether within the province or across Canada, upon request and as required to deliver on training assignments.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends upon request.
- Professionalism and leadership qualities, serving as a role model for trainees.
- Demonstrated teaching or facilitation skills with the ability to lead classes, run drills, and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Experience with scenario-based training, practical assessments, or adult-learning methodologies.
- Possess instructor-level certifications or experience in use of force, first aid and CPR, defensive tactics, or industry-specific training credentials
- Strong knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and relevant legislation or regulatory standards
- Comfortable working collaboratively, including co-teaching sessions, and coordinating with other instructors to ensure consistent, high-quality training across all programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for instruction, performance evaluation, recordkeeping, and collaboration with operations teams and customers.
- Ability to maintain records and ensure compliance with organizational and legal requirements
- Having a valid Ontario security license or dual licence (preferred)
- You will undergo a criminal background check
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
