Job Summary
The Training Director will oversee the administrative and clinical functions of The Village’s APA-accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship Program. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations and long-term development of the program, providing clinical and administrative supervision to psychology interns and staff, and participating in agency-wide initiatives. Key duties include maintaining APA/APPIC documentation, drafting Internship Program Descriptions, coordinating annual intern recruitment and matching, collaborating with graduate programs, supervising interns/post-doctoral residents and staff, recruiting supervisors, leading Psychology Department meetings, developing training programs, ensuring APPIC requirements are met, and partnering with program leadership for mutually valuable intern placements.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD from an APA Accredited Program
- Licensed as Psychologist by the State of Connecticut (must maintain licensure)
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Clinical experience serving client populations and providing therapeutic interventions similar to those provided by The Village
- Experience providing evidence-based treatment interventions (play therapy, group therapy, family therapy preferred)
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Experience providing clinical consultations to other treatment providers/programs
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred
- Cultural competency to serve diverse client population
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and service skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible and able to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel; Windows 10 familiarity
