Training Coordinator

Job Summary

Oversee all training areas for your assigned location, coordinating facilitators to ensure timely administration and compliance with DIDD, ECF, and DCS regulations. Conduct new hire orientations, annual recertifications, and specialized courses including FA/CPR, CPI, and seizure training. Manage the Training Database and Relias system by enrolling staff, scheduling monthly calendars, and auditing compliance reports. Create instructional outlines, develop teaching aids, and evaluate trainee progress through testing. Coordinate with nursing and documentation trainers on-site or off-site while maintaining a network of external training contacts. Assist the Human Resources Manager with recruiting, interviewing, reference checks, and background screenings. Maintain current instructor certifications and practice safe work habits in a full-time role requiring occasional on-call availability.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to read and write effectively
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record throughout employment with SSMS
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding criminal background check
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding drug test
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding sexual offender check
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding abuse registry
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding felony offender list
  • Must meet all training requirements
  • Must keep training current
  • Valid certifications to teach CPI, CPR/FA, PCM, etc.
  • Valid Driver License
  • Valid automobile insurance if using personal vehicle for company business
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills, able to complete heavy workloads within established time frames, and perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others, ability to interact appropriately with others in various contexts and purposes
  • Must be able to practice confidentiality in all matters pertaining to clients and employees
  • Has effective time management in the office and in the field and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Can perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, in a job that may require significant differences in technology, techniques, environmental factors, physical demands, or work situations
  • A working knowledge of community resources

  • Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to drive/travel for short periods of time to attend meetings, trainings, or perform site visits or for longer trips that will require overnight stays to attend meetings and training workshops
  • Must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to handle computers and other office equipment, to perform CPR chest compressions, and to use CPI techniques
  • Must have the ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed
  • Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and depth perception
  • Must be able to talk and listen for prolonged periods both on the telephone and face to face
  • Must be available outside of normal office hours for necessary and urgent company matters
  • Must be regularly required to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to sit for short or long periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch and to reach with the hands and arms
  • Must have sufficient vision to shift in focus from reading dossiers and operating office equipment
  • Must be able to perform CPR chest compressions
  • Must be able to use CPI techniques
