Job Summary
Own and lead all training systems and programs, including onboarding, skills development, and cross-training to ensure a fully capable workforce. Ensure all employees are properly trained and documented, with adequate backup coverage for critical roles. Maintain and continuously improve SOPs and training materials to align them with actual plant operations. Drive consistent execution of SOPs on the production floor by reinforcing adherence to formulations, procedures, and quality standards. Maintain a strong daily presence on the floor to observe practices, identify gaps, and correct deviations in real time. Support supervisors in enforcing consistency, accountability, and operational discipline while partnering with QA/Food Safety to support audit readiness. Operate effectively within a unionized environment to ensure policies are applied and properly documented.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment
- Demonstrated exposure to training, SOPs, or process standardization
- Strong organizational skills with a systems-oriented mindset
- High attention to detail and ability to enforce standards consistently
- Hands-on, practical approach with credibility on the production floor
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment (food manufacturing considered an asset, but not required)
- Experience working in or alongside a unionized workforce is an asset
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production metrics (labour, yield, efficiency) are considered assets
