Job Summary

Oversee the New Employee Orientation Program and EMS Academy Instruction, coordinating both in-house and offsite classes while maintaining comprehensive records. Schedule and conduct clinical continuing education courses such as CPR, ACLS, and EMT refresher training, and manage skill or competency assessments for field staff. Develop annual training plans, map out professional development initiatives, and ensure all employees maintain appropriate certifications and licensure. Coordinate with the Medical Director to audit patient care reports and improve field documentation compliance. Actively participate in recruitment through local EMS classes, conferences, and career days, while assisting in budgeting and administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • All EMT requirements
  • Currently licensed Paramedic or Registered Nurse
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to teach and provide training, instruction, and development to adult learners
  • High level of customer service orientation
  • Proficient in ambulance patient care field documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent administrative skills and very detailed oriented
  • Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to mentor and supervise staff
  • Solid verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently on a broad variety of projects
  • Punctual and able to meet deadlines as assigned
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages
  • Minimum of four years experience emergency medical services training experience
  • Become certified at the instructor level for CEVO and/or EVOC within one year of date of hire
  • Become certified at the instructor level for EMT, CPR, First Aid, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, BTLS within one year of date of hire
  • Paramedic Instructor Coordinator or higher within one year of hire
  • Ability to reach, push and pull
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to complete all job duties during any and all hours of the day and night
  • Ability to view graphic and text data on multiple computer screens for long periods of times

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates degree in emergency medical services preferred
