Job Summary
Conduct daily classroom testing, video, and hands-on forklift driving evaluations while coordinating training schedules with hiring and shift demands. Deliver training sessions covering refresher requirements, SHARP, Batch Control, SAM Hazards, LOTO, battery procedures, and forklift recertification. Evaluate trainees to measure progress, counsel team members on forklift operation tasks, and create or update training manuals and agendas. Operate a lift truck performing material handling duties in the facility as requested by the Operations Manager or Shift Supervisor. Complete training reports, verify paperwork, and make suggestions to improve work procedures while maintaining safety and security standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Driver's License
- Forklift Certification
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One (1) year related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment
- At least 80% cross-trained in all material handling functions
- Basic computer skills
- hand-held radio skills
- Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time
- Ability to move across all shifts as needed
- Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during all busy seasons
- Ability to effectively communicate (in writing and verbally) in a courteous and professional manner with others
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of Team Members or customers of the Company
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management
- Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines
- Ability to work independently without interruptions
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines
- Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product
- Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality
- Ability to complete evaluations on progress of trainees
- Ability to follow a systematic method of performing a task
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

Desired Qualifications
