Job Summary
Trainer – Low Voltage & Controls Technical Education in Columbus, OH leads new hire training programs, apprenticeship classes, and ongoing field- technician training in low voltage systems, controls, and electrical installation; develops and refines training curriculum and lab exercises; mentors trainees; collaborates with the Education Manager to align training with company goals; supports workforce development initiatives across multiple field roles; requires 5+ years hands-on experience and strong communication to translate technical concepts into engaging training; duties include delivering hands-on labs on conduit installation, wiring, terminations, and safety, plus curriculum development and program support across installation and controls.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in low voltage systems, electrical installation, controls, or building automation
- Strong working knowledge of: Control wiring, structured cabling, and conduit installation
- Electrical safety practices and jobsite standards
- Experience training, mentoring, or leading others (formal or informal)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging training
- Comfortable leading both classroom and hands-on training environments
