Job Summary
Deliver accredited training and assessment for Certificate II and III animal care courses, adhering to RTO policies and the National Training Package. Design course materials, assessment tools, and strategies while providing direct support to students to ensure compliance with vocational education standards. Communicate Taronga's conservation messages internally and externally, and implement sustainability practices to meet organizational targets. Maintain current Senior First Aid and a paid NSW Working with Children Check, with a commitment to ongoing Professional Development in VET and Industry. Required Qualifications
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials: TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor, or A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training
- ACM30321 Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care and/or ACM20121 Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent qualification or experience)
- Strong demonstrated experience in zoo keeping and animal management (minimum 2 years of current experience working in a zoological institution)
- Hold and maintain a current Senior First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at own expense
- Willingness to maintain Professional Development in VET and Industry
- Flexibility, reliability and effective time management
