Job Summary
Conduct rail load out by ensuring cars are ready for loading, entering weights into the computer, and following proper shipping procedures. Perform quality control by sampling and testing raw, in-process, and finished materials while recording results. Operate and maintain pellet mill and hammer mill equipment, including adjustments, cleaning, and mobile machinery like forklifts and Bobcats. Adhere strictly to workplace safety procedures, maintain housekeeping standards, and communicate escalating issues to the Operations team. Complete all assigned paperwork and serve as a backup resource for associates on leave. Work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and overnight, with the ability to work in extreme temperatures and outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines
- Willing to work different shifts as needed with proper notification
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in a manual position
- Mechanical aptitude
