Trainee, System Supervisor [TRM]

Job Summary
Supervise the daily operation of the 14 kV to 120 volt distribution system, 46 kV through 500 kV transmission systems, and all TEP local and remote generation on a 24-hour rotating shift schedule. Prepare detailed switching procedures for system maintenance and new facilities, initiate emergency procedures to restore customer loads or protect system components, and maintain accurate maps and records for energized distribution operations. Optimize generation and transmission scheduling to maximize economy and reliability while managing participation in the CAISO EIM. Obtain and maintain NERC Operator certification, complete assigned studies during a seven-step training program, and perform projects as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience in the Electric Utility industry
- NERC certification
- Associates Power degree
- Energy Program Certificate
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to evaluate information, and make decisions in a timely manner, during situations that can be moderately to extremely stressful
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments within the Company, other Balancing Authorities, and any other affected entities, both verbally and in writing
- Must successfully complete an aptitude test on mathematical skills and electrical theory
