Job Summary
Conduct medical coding by applying general coding guidelines, NCCI, MUE, NCD/LCD, and modifier rules to CPT and diagnosis data. Resolve coding rejections and ensure accurate billing knowledge across all assigned cases. Maintain certification in either AHIMA or AAPC while managing daily coding tasks. This Trainee Medical Coder role requires a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on coding experience.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of 4+ years in coding
- hands on experience with general coding guidelines, coding rejection, NCCI, MUE, NCD/LCD, Billing Knowledge
- strong knowledge in modifiers, CPT's, diagnosis
- certified in either AHIMA or AAPC
