Job Summary
Trainee Line Mechanic based in New Plymouth to gain hands-on experience in building, maintaining and repairing electricity networks across the Taranaki region. You’ll learn overhead and underground line construction and maintenance, network inspections, repairs and upgrades, fault response and restoration, and safe use of tools and equipment in a live network environment. Structured training and development into Line Mechanic and Electrical pathways, mentorship from experienced professionals, and clear progression opportunities within the energy/utilities sector. All successful applicants will undergo a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test, and a Ministry of Justice check.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a full Class 1 driver licence (or are working towards it)
- Pre-trade or electrical experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided.
