Job Summary
Monitor trigger boards, low-lifts, forklifts, and clamp truck paperwork by reading and signing appropriate documentation. Operate sheeter equipment during breaks, lunches, and for vacations or call-ins while ensuring required supplies like rolls, skids, tags, and tape are stocked. Perform preventative maintenance tasks, assist with strapping and waste sheet removal, and maintain a clean, obstacle-free work environment. Adhere to GPI safety programs, standards, and procedures, including mandatory hearing protection, while supporting a safe and healthy workplace. Requires high school diploma, basic math skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting with extended standing (12 hours), frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to moving mechanical parts and noise. Must work all shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 continuous operation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Good organizational skills
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
- Ability to interact with customers, co-workers and managers in a professional and respectful manner
- Basic math skills and understanding of weights, measurements, volume and distance
- Excellent reading comprehension/writing
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring daily tasks are complete
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (12 hours)
- Awkward and/or repetitive movements
- Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, overhead reaching, kneeling and crouching
- Frequent lifting/moving (up to 20 lbs.) and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to work all shifts, including but not limited to: days, afternoons, evenings, 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, (as per the CBA), without exception, as required and scheduled in a 24/7 continuous operation
