Job Summary
Conduct routine environmental sampling and monitoring across Water, Construction, and Compliance sites while performing official receipt of tankered waste loads and rapid chemical analysis prior to acceptance at treatment works. Calibrate environmental control systems, manage high-precision data reporting to Data Analysts, and liaise with commercial laboratories to ensure sample compliance during transport. Maintain strict safety protocols using the "Stay Safe" remote application and report near misses immediately. Assist with on-site training and shadowing of new employees. This field-based role requires a reliable individual with a full UK Driving Licence, split time across core service areas, and flexibility for shift work ranging from 7am to 7pm, including occasional weekends and overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to adapt to a combination of shift work (ranging between 7am and 7pm), with the flexibility to work occasional weekends and overnight stays when required by the project
- A highly reliable individual capable of managing their own daily hours, working flexibly, and problem-solving independently on site
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with on-site clients, waste hauliers, and internal data teams
- A genuine love for working outdoors in all weathers
Desired Qualifications
- BSc Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
- Foundational working knowledge of the water/waste industry or prior experience in environmental field monitoring
