Trainee Designer- Menswear

Trainee Designer supports the Designer and Buying teams in researching and designing a commercial menswear range, including trend, colour, and shape direction. Day-to-day activities include conducting daily trend research across multiple platforms and sharing insights with the womenswear teams, translating latest trends into commercially viable designs aligned with Primark’s brand handwriting, collaborating with the design team to create strong original graphics and prints, and supporting range development by considering garment shapes, fabrics, and seasonal colour direction. You’ll manage design updates, track amendments, ensure timely communication across teams, and prepare design files and presentations while handling colour/trend/product-related admin tasks. Requires a strong creative mindset, a high-quality portfolio, confident communication to design and buying teams, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Excel, including hand drawing and digital design.
