Job Summary
Perform scheduled and non-routine repairs on trailers and refrigeration units to meet DOT standards. Ensure lights function properly, wiring is secure, and repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension, and airlines. Conduct preventative maintenance on refrigeration units and maintain a clean, neat shop. Complete additional duties as assigned. Requires a valid Class C driver's license, two years of trailer technician experience, and basic tools proficiency. Located in Dallas, Texas. Stevens Transport specializes in transporting time-sensitive, temperature-controlled commodities across North America.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of trailer technician experience
- Basic Tools set for job functions
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
- Valid Class C driver's license
- Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
- Basic math calculations
- Maneuvering around, in, on, and under trucks/tight spaces to properly inspect and diagnose problems
- Standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body movements
- Using hands to handle, control or feel
- Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Preventable Maintenance experience on ThermoKing or Carrier units
- 609 Certification
