Job Summary
Prepare vehicle records manually and on a computer, perform safety inspections, and document all required equipment checks. Inspect and repair undercarriage components, access any area of the vehicle to perform necessary maintenance, and move or install parts as needed. Operate vehicles to test functions and ensure proper operation while complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Perform DOT inspections and provide your own hand tools. This role involves working in heavy traffic areas with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and chemicals, requiring the ability to bend, stoop, and crawl to complete repairs.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
- Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
- Must provide own hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
