Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial trailers, focusing on brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and structural components. Perform preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, and component replacements while adhering to strict safety standards and torque specifications. Operate diagnostic equipment, power tools, and lifts to complete repairs accurately, ensuring all documentation and inspection forms are completed. Maintain a clean work area, follow OSHA procedures, and communicate repair status and parts needs to leadership. Work independently in a fast-paced environment, meeting productivity and quality expectations while staying updated on industry repair techniques.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of trailer systems and repair procedures
- Ability to safely perform brake, suspension, hub, wheel end, and structural repairs
- Ability to read and follow repair procedures and work instructions
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to identify safety concerns and correct deficiencies
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision based on technician tier level
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop environments
- Ability to safely use shop equipment, tools, and machinery
- Ability to wear required PPE
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training in automotive or diesel technology
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM certifications)
- Welding and fabrication experience
