Job Summary
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on semi-trailers and trailer equipment, including air brake, electrical, suspension, and structural systems. Conduct DOT inspections, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and interpret work orders and technical manuals to recommend solutions. Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety while completing accurate documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment during shop and field service assignments. Provide excellent customer service throughout the process.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must provide and maintain a personal set of mechanic's tools
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or diesel/trailer repair certification
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer service technician
- Class A CDL
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Air brake system diagnosis and repair
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Basic computer skills for diagnostics, web-based training, and electronic work order systems
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
