Job Summary
Safely operate trucks and equipment to move trailers between facilities, jobsites, and customer locations. Hook and unhook trailers, ensuring proper connections and securement. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections for damage, tire condition, and safety compliance with DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations. Position trailers for loading, unloading, maintenance, or storage while coordinating movements with dispatch and operations personnel. Perform basic troubleshooting, report mechanical issues, and complete inspection reports and maintenance documentation. Maintain a clean yard, track inventory, and operate forklifts as needed. Follow all safety protocols and communicate effectively with drivers and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or demonstrable equivalent.
- Must possess a Class A CDL with airbrakes and have the ability to obtain other endorsement.
- Previous experience operating trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience in transportation, construction, or aggregate operations is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.
- Safely operate a vehicle for extended periods on roads and construction sites.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, and reach throughout the day.
- Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly.
- Work around dust, noise, fumes, and other typical construction conditions.
- Meet the requirements of the company's PCP Level 4 screening.
