Job Summary
Collaborate with business partners to learn skills required to maintain, repair, and overhaul trailers and equipment. Diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other vehicles for class 6, 7, and 8 diesel-powered tractors, trailers, and forklifts. Operate specialized equipment including hydraulic jacks to lift heavy trucks for maintenance underneath the vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair heavy truck engines, braking, electrical, cooling, and exhausting systems. Assist in maintaining accurate records of repairs, schedules, and parts inventory while following safety protocols when handling heavy equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of hand tool repairs on class 6,7, and 8 trucks
