Job Summary
Trailer Mechanic at R+L Carriers Service Center in Omaha, NE. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers; conducting safety inspections and preparing safety documentation per FMCSA and applicable regulations; interpreting technical manuals; testing equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications; performing trailer PMs and repairs; lifting up to 50 lbs; owning personal tools; and applying experience with Class 8 commercial vehicles, welding, Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System, and yard-tractor/trailer operations where applicable. Required Qualifications
- Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the FMCSA or other regulations
- Must be able to interpret technical manuals
- Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
- Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure manufacturers' specifications and regulations are met
- Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must own your own tools
- Must be dependable
- Must be prepared to work in climate conditions when needed
