Job Summary
Trailer Mechanic Level C: responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance of trailers, inspecting and troubleshooting equipment, interpreting work orders and technical manuals, repairing or replacing defective parts, and testing to ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and FMCSA regulations. Requires ability to perform safety inspections, lift heavy objects up to ~70 lbs, use hand tools and testing equipment, and work a flexible shift including nights and weekends. A CDL and acceptable MVR are required if driving on public roads; must pass drug screening and background checks. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work independently or in a team, and good communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Must be 17+ years old
- Minimum of one-year experience or completion of trade school
- Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment
- Must have own tools
- Must know general repairs and PM criteria
- Must possess mechanical ability and interest in electronics and precision equipment
- Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs.
- Must have a valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads
- CDL holder must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks
- Must be able to work nights and weekends; flexible schedule
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions and safety rules
