Job Summary
Trailer Mechanic Level C responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance of trailers; inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment; conduct safety inspections and prepare FMCSA and other required safety documents; interpret work orders and manuals; repair or replace defective parts; test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and regulations; willing to work any shift, including nights and weekends; must have own tools, know general repairs and PM criteria, and possess mechanical and electronics aptitude; CDL and MVR required if driving on public roads; able to lift ~70 lbs.; strong communication, self-starting, and teamwork skills; must be authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Must be 17+ years of age
- Minimum of one-year experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent
- Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment
- Must have own tools
- Must know general repairs and PM criteria
- Mechanical ability and interest in electronics and precision equipment
- Strength and stamina to work with heavy equipment and awkward positions; able to lift ~70 lbs
- Must be able to read, interpret and comply with safety rules, procedures, manuals
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (if CDL holder)
- Able to work any shift, including nights and weekends
- Strong work ethic and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
