Job Summary
J & J Transportation seeks a Trailer Mechanic with experience in general trailer repair, knowledge of DOT requirements, and skills in various trailer components maintenance. Immediate openings available.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in general trailer repair
- Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment
- Fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft,48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers
- Suspension and running gear components knowledge
- Electrical, lighting and wiring components knowledge
- Interior and floor components knowledge
- ABS system diagnosis and repair skills
- Able to perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
- Welding and metal fabrication skills
- Experience with rear roll up and swing doors
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Possess a basic set of mechanics tools
Desired Qualifications
- Previous or current ASE certifications
- CDL A driver's license
