Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on semi-truck tractors and trailers, including brake adjustments, tire replacements, electrical troubleshooting, basic structural repairs, and more, all while working out of a service truck and adhering to strict safety regulations; utilize technical publications or automated systems to follow prescribed maintenance schedules and document labor in maintenance software; ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards and perform annual 90-day inspections; operate a yard hostler to move trailers within the facility; identify parts and supplies as needed and maintain a clean, organized work environment while following OSHA and environmental policies; utilize welding equipment as required and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, diesel engines, air and electrical systems
- 1 year of experience with tractor and trailer maintenance
- Knowledge of DOT rules and FHWA standards
- Ability to operate a yard hostler truck
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods
- Ability to use welding equipment
- Quality and safety compliance
- Maintenance software experience
