Job Summary
Trailer Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and transportation equipment, diagnosing issues, replacing parts, and executing repairs using hand and power tools. Tasks include servicing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, conducting on-road calls, completing work orders, following maintenance schedules, and contributing to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Requires owning basic tools with a locking toolbox, ability to drive repair vehicles on public roads for emergency repairs, and the capacity to work overtime and in an on-site shop environment. Education includes a High School Diploma or GED; five years of heavy-duty tractor/trailer repair experience is preferred; certifications in refrigerants and air brakes are preferred; basic computer skills and strong communication are required.
