Job Summary
Traffic Team Lead responsible for shaping the traffic engineering program, setting technical standards, mentoring staff, and representing the firm with clients and agencies. Oversees traffic studies and modeling, leads business development to expand transportation project footprints, interfaces with DOTs and municipalities, and presents findings at public meetings. Leads and reviews deliverables including studies, intersection analyses, signal design and timing, safety analyses, and MOT/TMP plans; evaluates modeling tools (Synchro, VISSIM, Vistro, etc.); drives training, standards, and tool adoption; manages client relationships and project scoping/pricing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; transportation/traffic specialization preferred
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- 15–20 years of traffic engineering experience across studies, design, and agency/public interaction
- Proficiency in traffic modeling and analysis tools, signal design, safety and capacity calculations
- Demonstrated client relationship and public presentation skills
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience
