Traffic Supervisor

Job Summary
Communicate with sales and customers to determine driver needs, schedule assignments, and enter data into the computer database. Direct drivers daily, manage performance through feedback and disciplinary actions, and monitor daily unit inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety. Handle daily routing for deliveries and pickups, negotiate rates with brokers, build carrier contacts, and coordinate hot shots. Monitor E-LOGS and DVIRs to address compliance issues promptly. Requires 2-4 years of fleet dispatch experience, knowledge of US shipping lanes and flatbed operations, and proficiency in Excel. Flexible schedule with occasional off-hours work.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-4 years of prior fleet dispatch experience
- familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a distribution center
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized individual with a commitment to consistent attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to assume additional responsibilities and accommodate customer requests
- Ability to work independently, often under pressure/situations within a team environment
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to perform a variety of tasks
- Ability to build business relationships and collaborate effectively
- Must be able to interact with all levels of management
- Must be flexible and willing to work 'off schedule' on occasion
- Must know the United States shipping lanes and legal requirements for Flatbed trucks
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial services or distribution operations
- Proficiency in Spanish language
- Experience in flatbed operations and load securement
- Experience with Roadnet software or other dispatching software
- Knowledge of StelPlan
