Job Summary
Lead a team of Traffic Analysts and Clerks to ensure on-time product delivery across retail divisions while strategically sourcing and managing carrier partners. Optimize transportation spend through load planning and tactical execution, monitoring carrier performance to implement corrective actions that enhance service and efficiency. Serve as the primary liaison between Transportation, Replenishment, and Distribution stakeholders to resolve operational challenges, while maintaining transportation management systems and appointment scheduling platforms. Coach employees on performance discussions and facilitate department-wide learning initiatives, participating in recruiting activities to build a high-performing team. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 4–6 years of logistics experience, and 2–3 years of people leadership. Located at the Deer Valley Campus in Phoenix, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
- 2–3 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and talent development
- Working knowledge of both dry and perishable commodity transportation, including produce, meat, grocery, and temperature-controlled freight
- Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DOT Hours of Service, CARB, and other applicable legislation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to analyze data and communicate insights effectively
- Demonstrated self-starter with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven success in coaching, developing, and empowering high-performing teams
- Ability to inspire employee engagement and drive accountability while fostering a positive team culture
- Experience building and managing strategic relationships with carrier and supplier partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely, data-driven decisions
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to delivering results
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-management skills
- Flexibility to support business needs, including rotational weekend coverage and non-traditional work hours when required
