Traffic Signal Technician

Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signals, control devices, and related equipment while performing preventive maintenance on installation tools. Upload, download, and program traffic signal controllers, then monitor and inspect contractor work to verify quality and compliance with project completion. Support documentation, reporting, and coordination activities for field operations, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address malfunctions outside regular business hours. Requires three or more years of experience in signal installation and repair, familiarity with NEC, NESC, MUTCD, and traffic control standards, plus a valid Georgia driver's license. Full-time role in the Atlanta metropolitan area supporting GDOT District 7.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three or more years of experience in traffic signal installation, maintenance, or repair
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and traffic control standards
- Experience working with traffic signal controllers and traffic signal systems
- Familiarity with MUTCD standards and traffic control practices
- Valid Georgia driver's license or ability to obtain and maintain required driving credentials
- Ability to safely lift equipment and materials and perform work at elevated heights when required
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
