Job Summary
Entry-level role supporting installation and maintenance of city traffic signals, fiber-optic network, signs, and road markings. Responsibilities include aiding in installing and maintaining signals and controllers at intersections, cutting pavement, installing signal loops and guy wires, assisting with signs and painting road markings, supporting after-hours call rotation, troubleshooting malfunctioning traffic control devices, maintaining tools and equipment, and assisting with documentation and reporting. Requires ability to perform heavy manual tasks, read blueprints, operate field tools, and work in a team environment. Must have or obtain IMSA Work Zone Safety and GDOT flagging certifications within one year, possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License with clean driving history, pass drug screen and physical exam, and complete assessments as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of two years’ experience in outside electrical construction
- minimum of two years’ experience in heavy manual outside labor
- experience and skill in reading and working from blue-prints/plans
- experience in signage production and installation
- ability to acquire and implement sign installation methods
- punctual and reliable attendance
- current IMSA Work Zone Safety certification at time of hire or obtain within 1 year
- current flagging/traffic control certification at time of hire or obtain within one year
- valid Georgia Driver’s License and satisfactory seven-year driving history (no DUI in last 5 years)
- ability to carry out instructions and perform heavy repetitive manual tasks
- ability to report to work reliably
- basic knowledge of MUTCD
- team-oriented
- operation of bucket truck or aerial equipment (training/skills testing may be required)
- drug screen and background inquiry required
