Job Summary
Monitor and direct bus, parent, and visitor traffic to ensure safe campus access and exit for walking and riding students. Flag traffic as necessary in accordance with District training and communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public. Record unsafe or inappropriate student behavior and provide written reports to the principal, while carrying out discipline procedures as defined by the building principal. Provide prudent safety-related information to the Principal/Associate Principal and perform First Aid/CPR when necessary. Work 1.0 hours per day (9:05 a.m. - 9:35 a.m. and 4:05 p.m. - 4:35 p.m.) under the supervision of the building Principal/Associate Principal/Transportation Manager.
Required Qualifications
- A valid First Aid/CPR card
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the general public
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply techniques in working with students in the area of behavior management
- Demonstrated ability to prepare legible reports/documents and give clear verbal instructions
- Knowledge of or willingness to become knowledgeable of the rights of students and legal aspects of the position
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team
- Must possess or be able to acquire a First Aid/CPR card within 45 days of employment
- Must be able to demonstrate honesty and integrity and be able to maintain confidentiality in handling security matters
- Must be able to demonstrate punctuality and dependability and work with minimal supervision
