Job Summary
Coordinate traffic safety activities and campaigns by giving presentations at local schools and supporting youth leadership initiatives. Assist with planning, implementing, and promoting educational programs covering occupant protection, child passenger safety, teen outreach, bike and pedestrian safety, and aging driver education. Manage digital communications by ensuring resources are accurate and posting updates with staff, while maintaining inventory sheets and tracking program participation for reporting. Support outreach efforts with local colleges to recruit student volunteers and expand youth engagement in transportation safety initiatives. Work part-time up to 20 hours per week with occasional evening or school-based activities under the Transportation Director.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Interest in youth engagement, public safety, community education, or transportation safety
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and other software, such as Excel, Word, Acrobat, and Canva
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and community partners
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check with fingerprinting
