Job Summary
Lead design efforts for complex transportation projects (highways, bridges, signals, transit systems, multimodal networks) and oversee permit applications. Provide advanced technical leadership, manage project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to meet project goals. Ensure safety and regulatory compliance, apply state/local design criteria, support bidding and construction administration, and maintain client relationships through clear communication while contributing to research and innovation in transportation design.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 5 years minimum experience in Civil Engineering and Construction industry (6 preferred)
- Proficiency with design techniques, tools, and concepts for transportation planning, engineering design, and regulatory processes
- Proficiency with permit management software
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations, environmental and permitting procedures
- Strong training and mentoring skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software/tools (SYNCHRO, HCS, VISSIM, SIDRA, CORSIM, FSUTMS/SERPM, ArcGIS or Microstation)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 15%
