Job Summary
Provide information to reporters to enable fast, accurate traffic and weather updates, blending production savvy with storytelling for real-time coverage. Generate original ideas, research materials, and coordinate guest contacts while directing presenters and crew to meet established production standards. Monitor listener inquiries, perform quality assurance, and manage administrative planning for live and pre-recorded radio shows across news, music, talk, sports, and traffic. Work in a fast-paced newsroom environment requiring flexibility for shifting morning, evening, and weekend schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Radio Producer and/or Assistant
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platforms
- Ability to generate original ideas
- Comprehensive knowledge of news and weather
- Four-year college degree, preferably in Radio or Media Production or the equivalent work experience
- Full knowledge of the law, rules and industry regulations around radio production
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
- Ability to work morning and evening or weekend different hours
- Ability to build rapport and draw information from people
- Confidence and tenacity to pursue information, overcome obstacles and pitch ideas to senior colleagues
- Stress tolerance: ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and to react quickly to changes
- Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Non-Compete agreement (required for certain positions)
