Job Summary
Traffic Plan Designer responsible for creating comprehensive Traffic Plans, written traffic documents, and site layout plans tailored to client needs within a busy Traffic Planning department. Duties include drafting site-specific traffic plans (TMPs, Traffic Accommodation Plans/Strategies, Category Documents), designing procedures for building plans, producing permits, engaging with stakeholders, managing large projects, assisting with city/municipal permit applications, maintaining contractor relationships, preparing data for internal/external reporting, and providing traffic management advice to Operations. The role requires knowledge of traffic planning techniques, regulatory standards, and proficiency with tools such as Google Suite, AutoCAD or Invarion/RapidPlan, along with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, and a capability to work independently while collaborating with teams to meet KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Previous traffic planning experience
- knowledge of Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba regulations (asset)
- Traffic control experience (asset)
- valid TCP Ticket issued by BCCSA (asset)
- Knowledge of Traffic Plans & written Traffic Accommodation Strategies
- Advanced computer skills (Google Suite)
- Experience with Invarion/RapidPlan Software or AutoCAD (asset)
- Prior traffic management and/or customer service experience (preferred)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
- Teamwork and analytical/problem-solving skills
