Job Summary
Anchor morning newscasts in Atlanta, delivering hard news, live interviews, and pre-produced segments while managing complex traffic gridlocks. Track major transportation routes and bottlenecks daily, cultivate local traffic contacts, and maximize vendor graphics capabilities. Host interactive, long-form content for the live stream with a conversational, ad-lib presentation style. Publish real-time traffic alerts and stories across Facebook, Instagram, and X, and represent the station at civic functions and community outreach. Participate in morning editorial meetings to maintain top-tier journalistic standards. Requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Salary range $100,000.00-126,000.00 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a reporter or anchor at a commercial television station
- Previous in-studio anchoring experience
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Stellar on-air delivery
- Excellent script-reading skills
- Proven ability to sustain unscripted ad-lib coverage for extended periods during breaking situations
- Deep structural knowledge of major Atlanta transportation routes, highways, and recurring traffic pain points
- Exceptional writing skills with an absolute command of conversational broadcast style, English grammar, spelling, and punctuation under intense deadline pressure
- A collaborative, proactive leader on the floor who can guide a team and interface politely and effectively with the public
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
