Job Summary
Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for traffic engineering and transportation projects across Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, and Texas. Lead and review traffic impact studies, signal designs, and corridor evaluations while serving as a mentor to engineering staff. Participate in project planning, budgeting, and proposal preparation to support client presentations and business development. Develop quality assurance standards and stay current on FHWA guidance and MUTCD requirements. Manage ongoing tasks independently with the ability to travel throughout service areas.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 15+ years of progressive traffic engineering and transportation experience
- Strong knowledge of traffic operations, traffic safety, traffic signal systems, and transportation planning principles
- Experience managing and reviewing traffic impact studies, traffic signals improvements and general traffic engineering projects
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's Illinois service areas (own transportation) and attend client and in office meetings as required
- Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
